Lebanon accuses Israel of spraying glyphosate on the Lebanese side of the border. Beirut announced its intention to appeal to the UN Security Council.

The Lebanese Ministries of Agriculture and Environment, after collecting samples, detected glyphosate in concentrations 20 to 30 times higher than the average, expressing concern about damage to agricultural production and soil fertility.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the action as a "flagrant violation of Lebanese sovereignty and an environmental and health crime."

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) reported that the Israeli army sprayed "a non-toxic chemical substance" near the border, raising concerns about the impact on agricultural land and the return of civilians.

The Lebanese Foreign Ministry intends to raise the issue at the UN Security Council.
