Libya: Haftar Forces Clash on Niger Border – Three Dead

Three soldiers of Khalifa Haftar were killed in clashes with armed groups on the Libya-Niger border. Haftar's forces denounced a "dastardly attack by outlaw mercenaries and terrorist gangs."
According to a statement, three simultaneous attacks occurred on border posts: Wadi al Toum (Toumo) on the Niger border, Wadi Abugrara, and near the Salvador crossing, a strategic zone in the Libya-Niger-Algeria tri-border area.
On Saturday, men in military uniforms reported seizing the Al Toum border crossing, denouncing difficult living conditions and looting of resources by Haftar's forces.
Since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya has faced stability issues. Two governments vie for power: the UN-recognized Government of National Unity (GNU) in Tripoli and the Benghazi government under Haftar.
