Libya: Haftar Meets with Turkish Intelligence Chief

Marshal Khalifa Haftar met with the Head of Turkish Intelligence, Ibrahim Kalin, in Benghazi. The meeting took place at a time when Ankara is seeking to strengthen its presence in the region and restore relations with eastern Libya.
According to Haftar's side, issues of bilateral cooperation, common interests and regional security were discussed. The General Command of the Libyan National Army noted that the meeting reflects the determination to develop cooperation between the naval forces of the two countries.
Ibrahim Kalin also met with the new commander of the Libyan National Army, Saddam Haftar. The meeting, which took place on the warship TCG Kınalıada, discussed issues related to the development of maritime security and military cooperation.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives in Benghazi is expected to vote on the Turkish-Libyan memorandum of 2019.
