Maduro to Face Trial in New York on Drug Charges

The ousted Venezuelan President, Nicolás Maduro, was transferred to New York this past Saturday, following his capture by U.S. military special forces.
Footage shows Maduro being escorted from an aircraft and transported to Manhattan by helicopter. He was taken to the offices of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and subsequently to a prison in Brooklyn.
In the photographs, Maduro is seen in handcuffs, leg chains, and a beanie. He is expected to appear before a judge in New York tomorrow, as the U.S. intends to try him for "narco-terrorism" and cocaine importation.
Nicolás Maduro, 63, and his wife, Cilia Flores, 69, were arrested after U.S. bombings in Caracas and its suburbs, following months of military pressure.
