Macron: 'We Didn't Scare Trump Enough' on EU-US Tariffs

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the European Union did not exert enough pressure on the United States regarding the EU-US tariff agreement.

According to a French official quoted by Politico, Macron reportedly told his ministers that 'they need to fear us. We didn't scare them enough' during the weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

The agreement, imposed by US President Donald Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, provides for the imposition of 15% tariffs on most European export products to the United States.

Macron also stated that he believes there is still time to change the agreement, adding, 'The story is not over and we will not stop here'.
