Macron and Barzani Call for De-escalation in Syria
French President Emmanuel Macron and the President of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, have called for a de-escalation of hostilities in Syria during a telephone conversation.
They urged all parties to implement a permanent ceasefire and ensure the protection of civilians.
The U.S. military command for the Middle East urged Syrian government forces to halt any attacks in the area between Aleppo and the city of Al-Tabqa, where they are facing Kurdish forces.
