Macron: The People of Venezuela Freed from Maduro's Dictatorship

French President Emmanuel Macron stated that the people of Venezuela have been freed from the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro. In a post, Macron called for a peaceful and democratic transition with respect for the popular will.

Macron expressed hope that Edmundo González Urrutia, who was elected in 2024, will quickly and smoothly ensure the transition, restoring institutional normalcy.

Meanwhile, the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, reiterated that the European Parliament does not recognize Nicolás Maduro as the legitimately elected president.

Metsola emphasized the EU's support for a peaceful and democratic solution in Venezuela.
