Global Call to End Gaza War Amid Aid Distribution Concerns
Share on:

Twenty-four countries have called for an immediate end to the war in Gaza, criticizing Israel's aid distribution model. The joint statement followed the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians near food distribution sites.

Countries including Britain, France, Italy, and Japan expressed concerns over the deaths of more than 800 Palestinians seeking aid. Foreign Ministers highlighted that the Netanyahu government's aid distribution model fuels instability and deprives residents of human dignity.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) uses private American companies to provide supplies, bypassing the UN system. The United Nations has described the GHF model as dangerous and violating impartiality standards, which the GHF denies.

The head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, Philippe Lazzarini, described the aid distribution system in Gaza as a 'sadistic death trap,' denouncing shootings against civilians.

Until May, the UN operated approximately 400 aid distribution centers in the Gaza Strip. Few of these continue to operate due to restrictions by the Israeli army.
