Mitsotakis in Paris for Nuclear Energy Summit

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is in Paris for the Nuclear Energy Summit. Representatives from 41 countries and many international organizations are participating in the summit.
The aim of the summit is to recognize nuclear energy as a key element of the energy transition and the decarbonization of the energy system. The summit is expected to result in joint statements from the participating countries, including a statement from the 16 European countries participating in the nuclear energy alliance (including Greece), as well as a joint financial statement.
Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, will deliver a keynote speech on scientific research, development, innovation and community funding, which is expected to be in the order of 10 billion euros for the period 2028-2034.
