Bennett: Netanyahu Should Resign Due to Divisions

Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has called on Benjamin Netanyahu to resign from his post, describing his handling of the country as a "disaster." In an interview with Channel 12, Bennett stressed that Netanyahu bears "heavy responsibility for the divisions in Israeli society" and that his long tenure in power "is not healthy."
Bennett, who contributed to Netanyahu's removal from power in 2021, left open the possibility of returning to politics. Referring to the war in Gaza, Bennett described the performance of the Israeli army as "excellent" but criticized the "political management of the country." He also proposed a "comprehensive agreement" for the release of the hostages.
The term of the Knesset ends in November 2026, but the possibility of early elections is not ruled out.
