Bolsonaro Detained for Tampering with Electronic Ankle Bracelet

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has been temporarily detained for allegedly attempting to tamper with his electronic ankle bracelet.
Bolsonaro admitted to trying to open the bracelet with a welding tool, claiming he did it out of "curiosity." The Brazilian Supreme Court released a video showing the damaged bracelet.
Alexandre de Moraes, the judge in the case, stated that the detention is temporary and not a sentence execution, arguing that Bolsonaro had a "high flight risk" ahead of a demonstration by his supporters.
Bolsonaro has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for attempting a coup to prevent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's return to power.
