N. Farandouros: "No compromise" on Sinai Monastery ownership

MEP Nikolas Farandouros commented on the events at St. Catherine's Monastery of Sinai and the dispute between the deposed abbot and the monastic community. In statements from Brussels, he called for the restoration of order and the preservation of the ownership regime.

Mr. Farandouros mentioned the upcoming convocation of the Synod of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem regarding the crisis, while raising questions about the role of the monastic community and the abbot.

Earlier, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem issued a statement of support for the monks, recognizing the rights of the Sinai Brotherhood.
