Eighty years after the atomic bombing of Nagasaki, a minute's silence was observed in memory of the victims. In 1945, an American bomber caused devastation in the Japanese city.

The restored church bell rang for the first time since the bombing. Three days after Hiroshima, Nagasaki experienced the horror of the nuclear weapon, with 74,000 dead, following 140,000 in Hiroshima.
