Nagasaki: Silence for the Atomic Bomb Anniversary

A moment of silence was observed in Nagasaki on the 80th anniversary of the atomic bomb explosion, at the exact time the bomb struck the city. A church bell tower rang for the first time since 1945.
On August 9, 1945, at 11:02 AM, Nagasaki experienced the horror of the atomic bomb, three days after Hiroshima. Approximately 74,000 people lost their lives, following the 140,000 deaths in Hiroshima.
