Nagasaki: Minute of Silence for Atomic Bomb Anniversary

A minute of silence was observed in Nagasaki to commemorate the victims of the atomic bomb, exactly at the time of the explosion 80 years ago. The city's church bell tower rang for the first time since 1945.
On August 9, 1945, at 11:02 AM, Nagasaki experienced the horror of the nuclear bombing, three days after Hiroshima. Approximately 74,000 people lost their lives, following the 140,000 deaths in Hiroshima.
