Russia and Ukraine Conduct New Prisoner of War Exchange

Russia and Ukraine have carried out a new exchange of prisoners of war, according to announcements from the Russian Ministry of Defense and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 84 Russian soldiers returned from territories controlled by Kyiv, while 84 prisoners of war from the Ukrainian armed forces were handed over.
Zelensky stated that 84 prisoners of war, including civilians held for up to a decade, had returned to Ukraine. Among the released military personnel are defenders of Mariupol.
The exchange of prisoners and the remains of dead soldiers is one of the few areas of cooperation between Moscow and Kyiv.
The two sides have exchanged thousands of prisoners this year, following agreements reached in Istanbul.
