New Restrictions on Journalist Access to the White House

The White House has announced a new regulation restricting access for accredited journalists to the offices of Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and other top communications officials in the West Wing.
According to the new regulation, journalists will no longer have access to Room 140 without a prior appointment. The White House cites the need to protect "sensitive information" as the reason for the measure.
This move follows similar restrictions imposed earlier this month at the Department of Defense, where dozens of journalists responded by returning their credentials.
