South Africa: Allegations of 'Clearance Flights' of Palestinians from Gaza

South Africa is accused of receiving 'clearance flights' of Palestinians from Gaza, claiming that there are other destinations for these flights. Initially, the country reportedly denied entry to passengers on such a flight but eventually allowed them to disembark after the intervention of a charitable organization.
South African Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola stated that the flight appeared to be part of a 'broader plan to remove Palestinians from Palestine to many different parts of the world.' He also claimed that similar flights have arrived in other countries.
The Palestinian embassy in South Africa reported that the group arrived via Nairobi 'without any prior notice or coordination.' The embassy added that an 'unregistered and misleading organization' exploited the situation of Gaza citizens.
Of the 153 passengers on the flight that arrived in Johannesburg, 23 continued to other destinations, while the remaining 130 were allowed entry into the country 'out of compassion,' according to President Cyril Ramaphosa.
South Africa has stated that it will not accept any more charter flights carrying Palestinians.
