United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres welcomes President Trump's announcement of a ceasefire extension.

According to his spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, this is an important step towards de-escalation and creating crucial space for diplomacy and confidence-building between Washington and Tehran.

He also emphasized that the UN Secretary-General supports Pakistan's role in facilitating talks and hopes that Islamabad's efforts will help create the conditions for a comprehensive and lasting resolution of the conflict.
