Donald Trump has extended the ceasefire with Iran, accepting Pakistan's proposal for an extension, despite Tehran's refusal to participate in peace talks in Islamabad.

The American president announced that the ceasefire would remain in effect until an official proposal is received from Iran, while the naval blockade in Hormuz will remain in place.

Iran's refusal is due to Trump's insistence on maintaining the blockade of Iranian ports and an American raid, which Tehran described as a violation of the ceasefire.

According to the state news network Tasnim, Iran accused the USA of violating a 10-point framework, including obligations for a ceasefire in Lebanon and the imposition of excessive demands.

American officials, such as J.D. Vance, Marco Rubio, Jared Kushner, and Steve Witkoff, met at the White House to plan the next steps.

Pakistan, through Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, called on the US and Iran to extend the ceasefire and give dialogue a chance.
