US Warns of Military Activities in the Airspace of Mexico and Central America
Share on:

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a warning about potentially dangerous situations in the airspace of Mexico and Central America due to military activities.

The warning, which lasts for sixty days, refers to possible disruptions of satellite navigation services and applies to all aircraft at all altitudes.

The FAA issued the warnings via NOTAMs (notices to airmen) for specific airspaces in Mexico, Central America, Panama, Bogota, Guayaquil, Mazatlan, and the airspace of the eastern Pacific Ocean.

The warning follows previous statements by then-US President Donald Trump about possible "ground strikes" against drug cartels.

It also refers to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro by the US military, as well as the deaths of Venezuelan and Cuban soldiers in US military operations.
