British Couple in Iranian Prison: 'Used as Human Shields'

The family of a British couple detained in Iran stated they were used as "human shields" during the American-Israeli conflict in Iran and accused the British government of inaction.

Lindsay and Craig Forman were sentenced to ten years in prison last year on espionage charges, which they deny.

Their son, Joe Bennett, reported that his parents live under a constant drone noise and share small cells with mice and cockroaches.

The couple was arrested in January 2025 while traveling in Iran on motorcycles. Bennett has launched a campaign for their release.

The British government has condemned the sentence as "wholly unjustified" and states it will continue to press for the couple's release.

According to Bennett, British Foreign Secretary Ivette Cooper offered no substantial assistance.
