Eight Killed in US Strikes on Suspected Drug Trafficking Vessels

The U.S. armed forces announced that they struck vessels involved in drug trafficking, resulting in the deaths of eight people in a single day. Specifically, five people were killed on two vessels, while three were killed in earlier strikes against three vessels.
The strikes took place in international waters, but the Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) did not specify whether they occurred in the Pacific or the Caribbean. With these strikes, the total number of deaths in such operations reaches 110.
The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights has called on U.S. authorities to examine the legality of the strikes, expressing concerns about possible "extrajudicial executions."
Donald Trump has increased pressure on Venezuela, accusing Nicolás Maduro of drug trafficking, claims that Maduro denies.
