Orbán: Ukraine Has Lost the War, Russia Has Won

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán believes Ukraine has lost the war against Russia. In an interview with mandiner.hu, Orbán stated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy has lost the conflict.

Orbán, who has repeatedly vetoed EU sanctions against Russia, argued that Kyiv will not capitulate as long as it receives weapons and funds from the West.

Budapest refused to sign a joint statement by the remaining 26 EU members welcoming Donald Trump's efforts to end the war in Ukraine, with Orbán justifying the refusal by saying that the statement attempts to set conditions for negotiations in which the EU has not been invited.

The meeting between Trump and Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska, has raised concerns about potential territorial concessions from Ukraine, something Zelenskyy has ruled out.

Orbán commented on Facebook that it is regrettable that the EU has been marginalized.
