Orbán: 'Ukraine Has Lost the War' Ahead of Trump-Putin Meeting
Share on:

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has stated that Ukraine has lost the war with Russia, ahead of the meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin.

In an interview with the website mandiner.hu, Orbán said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been defeated. Budapest also refused to sign a joint EU statement welcoming Trump's efforts to end the war.

Orbán justified Hungary's refusal, saying that the statement attempts to set conditions for negotiations to which the EU has not been invited. The Trump-Putin meeting has raised concerns about potential territorial concessions from Ukraine, which Zelensky has ruled out.
