Pakistan: Former PM Imran Khan Sentenced to 17 Years in Prison

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, have been sentenced to imprisonment for breach of trust and corruption related to gifts they received while Khan was in power.

The couple was sentenced to ten years in prison for breach of trust and seven years for corruption. Khan has faced a series of legal cases since his government was ousted in 2022. Imprisoned since 2023, he denies the charges and claims they are politically motivated persecutions.
