Pope Leo XIV Calls for Venezuelan Independence

Pope Leo XIV has called for the sovereignty of Venezuela to be ensured and for the country to remain independent, following the arrest of President Nicolás Maduro by members of Delta Force and his transfer to the USA.

The head of the Roman Catholic Church emphasized that "the well-being of the beloved people of Venezuela must prevail over any other issue" and lead to overcoming violence and adopting paths of justice and peace.

Furthermore, he called for respect for human rights in the country.
