Pentagon Approves Tomahawk Missiles for Ukraine; Trump's Decision Pending

The Pentagon has approved the potential shipment of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, according to U.S. and European officials. The final decision rests with President Donald Trump.
The U.S. Department of Defense estimates that the shipment would not affect American stockpiles. This approval has encouraged European allies.
However, Trump reportedly changed his stance after a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Although he has not completely withdrawn the possibility, his administration has already drawn up plans for immediate shipment, should the order be given.
Zelensky had requested the supply of missiles to more effectively strike oil and energy facilities inside Russia. Tomahawk missiles have a range of approximately 1,600 kilometers.
U.S. officials acknowledge that operational issues remain regarding the training of Ukrainian forces and how to launch the missiles.
