The President of Poland has advocated for restricting Ukrainian refugees' access to child benefits and healthcare. He also proposed a ban on glorifying the Ukrainian nationalist leader Stepan Bandera.

Karol Nawrocki, the President of Poland, stated that family benefits should only be granted to Ukrainians working in Poland. He also pointed out that Warsaw will not continue paying Ukraine's Starlink subscription from October 1st due to a veto on the relevant law.

Poland has strongly supported Ukraine since the invasion by Russia in 2022. However, tensions have arisen regarding the Volhynia massacres during World War II. Approximately 1.5 million Ukrainians reside in Poland.

Stepan Bandera is considered a hero by many Ukrainians, but in Poland, he is seen as a symbol of violence against Poles, as he is associated with the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA).
