How Much Will the Attack on Iran Cost the US?

The United States faces a growing financial burden due to military involvement in Iran. Even conservative estimates suggest the cost could reach trillions of dollars, burdening future generations of American taxpayers.
According to Politico, some Republican officials estimate military spending at up to $2 billion per day. The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) estimates the first 12 days of the conflict cost $16.5 billion.
Linda Bilmes, a lecturer in Public Finance at Harvard University, warns that long-term costs, including weapons replenishment, veteran benefits, and debt interest, could far exceed $1 trillion over the next decade. She also points out that a potential ground attack on Iran would significantly increase costs.
American officials worry that the economic impact of the war will be felt for many generations.
