Putin Announces Two-Day Ceasefire in Ukraine for Victory Day

Vladimir Putin has announced a two-day ceasefire in Ukraine on May 8 and 9, coinciding with the Victory Day celebrations, according to Russian news agencies.
The Russian Ministry of Defense warned that in the event of Ukraine disrupting the celebrations, there would be a massive retaliatory missile strike on the center of Kyiv. The ministry added that Russia is ready to take action if the ceasefire is not observed and called on Kyiv citizens to leave the city.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected the proposal for a one-day ceasefire, calling it 'not serious'.
