Putin on Khamenei's Death: "Cynical Assassination"

Russian President Vladimir Putin described the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as a "cynical assassination" that violates all morality and international law.

According to the Russian news agency TASS, Putin expressed his condolences to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, commented that "the 'peacemaker' (referring to Trump) has shown his true face again" and that negotiations with Iran were a cover-up.

Medvedev recalled the long history of the Persian Empire in contrast to the relatively new history of the United States.
