Raouna: Moldova's Future Lies Within the EU

The Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, affirmed Cyprus's support for Moldova's European path during a working visit to Chisinau.

Ms. Raouna met with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov. According to her post on X, the visit confirms Cyprus's commitment to Moldova's European perspective, ahead of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2026.

Ms. Raouna emphasized that Cyprus strongly supports the enlargement and Moldova's future within the European family. She also assured Cyprus's unwavering support for Moldova's security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Ahead of the Presidency of the Council of the EU in 2026, Cyprus remains committed to promoting the EU enlargement agenda and achieving tangible progress in Moldova's accession negotiations.
