Ribera Condemns Netanyahu's Gaza Occupation Plans

European Commission Vice-President Teresa Ribera has condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's plans for a military operation in Gaza, calling them an "unacceptable provocation."

Ribera criticized the European Commission's inaction regarding the famine in Gaza, stressing the need for the release of hostages, a ceasefire, access to humanitarian aid, and respect for human rights.

The former Spanish minister also criticized the EU for insufficient measures against Israel's "disproportionate response" in Gaza, referring to the proposal to partially block Israel's access to the Horizon Europe research funding program.

Ribera called on the EU to fully suspend the EU-Israel Association Agreement.
