Russia: Foiled Hijacking of MiG-31 Fighter Jet with Hypersonic Missile

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) announced that it had thwarted a plot by Ukrainian and British spies to recruit a Russian pilot to steal a MiG-31 fighter jet armed with a hypersonic missile.
According to the "Ria" news agency, the pilot was offered $3 million to fly the aircraft to a NATO airbase in Romania, where it would be shot down by air defense systems.
The FSB claimed that the measures it took prevented the plans of the Ukrainian and British intelligence services for a "large-scale provocation." Russian state television broadcast an audio clip purportedly showing Ukrainian and British intelligence officials attempting to bribe the Russian pilot.
