Russia: Europe Increasingly Involved in Ukraine Conflict
Share on:

Senior officials from the Russian Foreign Ministry accuse Europe of increasing involvement in the conflict in Ukraine. They claim that NATO countries are implementing a plan for an "open confrontation with Russia," undermining European security.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko told the Russian news agency TASS that the West is increasingly involved in the Ukrainian conflict. He also commented on the report by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) regarding Paris' plans to send an expeditionary force of 2,000 men to Central Ukraine.

Konstantin Vorontsov, deputy head of the Russian delegation to the First Committee of the UN General Assembly, argued that NATO countries have moved to the "practical implementation of the line of open confrontation with Russia" by increasing their military capabilities on the border with Russia.

Vorontsov stated that Russia had tried to resolve the problems through diplomacy, but the "aggressive anti-Russian policy" of its opponents led the situation to its current state. He also claimed that the USA encountered "open sabotage from the Europeans" regarding the settlement of the Ukrainian issue.
