Russia and Ukraine have conducted a prisoner of war exchange, each side returning 84 soldiers. The exchange was announced by the Russian Ministry of Defense and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

According to the Russian ministry, 84 Russian soldiers returned from territories controlled by Kyiv, while Ukraine received back 84 prisoners of war. Zelenskyy stated that among the released Ukrainians were civilians held since 2014.

The exchange of prisoners is one of the few areas of cooperation between Moscow and Kyiv since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
