Russia: New Shahed Drone Tactics in Ukraine Conflict

Russian forces in Ukraine are employing upgraded Shahed drones, also known as Geran-2, and new tactics to counter Ukrainian air defenses. According to Vikram Mittal, Russia has modified Shahed drones with enhanced armor and the ability to deploy munitions.

Ukrainian forces have developed electronic warfare systems and mobile fire teams to intercept the drones. However, recently, more Shahed drones are reaching their targets.

New tactics include launching drones in pairs at different altitudes and combining Shahed drones with Lancet drones, which target Ukrainian interception forces. Ukraine is adapting its defenses and has struck a drone production facility.
