Russian Bombers Patrol Over Baltic Sea

Russian Tu-22M3 strategic bombers, escorted by Su-35S and Su-30SM fighter jets, conducted a patrol over international waters in the Baltic Sea, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The patrol coincided with a meeting between President Vladimir Putin and American envoys in the Kremlin, amid diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine.
The Baltic Sea has become an area of increasing geopolitical tension following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, with increased military activities and patrols.
The coastal states of the Baltic Sea account for over 10% of global trade, and critical infrastructure such as pipelines and cables lie on its seabed.
