At least 17 civilians were killed and 25 injured today when Sudanese paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) bombarded the city of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur.

El Fasher, which has been besieged by the RSF since May 2024, is suffering repeated attacks as part of the war between the paramilitaries and the Sudanese army, which has been raging since April 2023.

According to the local resistance committee, the attack included heavy artillery fire targeting residential areas, causing significant damage and waves of displaced people. The bombings lasted from morning until afternoon.

In addition, the RSF bombed the Abu Shuk displacement camp, killing civilians and injuring at least 20 people.

In recent months, El Fasher and neighboring camps have been particularly targeted by the RSF after their withdrawal from Khartoum.
