Stubb: Peace in Ukraine May Not Necessarily Be Just

Finnish President Alexander Stubb, in his New Year's message, addressed the situation in Ukraine and the possibility of achieving peace through compromises.
Alexander Stubb emphasized that Russia's actions in Ukraine are illegal and immoral, adding that over a million people have been killed or injured as a result of the war.
"Never before in the war have we been so close to peace, but we cannot be sure that Russia is ready for peace. Peace is often a compromise," he stated, stressing that Finland continues to support Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity.
Stubb underlined that Finland's relationship with Russia has changed permanently, but the goal remains a functional and peaceful relationship, which depends on Russia's actions.
