Starmer Issues Ultimatum to Israel on Palestine Recognition

British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, has issued an ultimatum to Israel regarding the recognition of Palestine. He stated that the United Kingdom will officially recognize the State of Palestine in September at the UN General Assembly, unless Israel stops the war in Gaza.
Starmer emphasized the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and called on Israel to take steps to end the situation, reach a ceasefire, and commit to a long-term peace process.
Israel, through its Foreign Ministry, described the prospect of recognizing Palestine as a "reward for Hamas." Donald Trump echoed this sentiment.
In contrast, the French Foreign Minister welcomed the British government's intention.
More than 150 countries have already recognized the State of Palestine, while within the European Union, 11 countries have made this recognition.
