The State Department has announced the suspension of medical visas for Palestinians from Gaza following a complaint by influencer Laura Loomer. This decision is pending an investigation into the visa issuance procedures.

According to a statement on X, the State Department, under Marco Rubio, will conduct a "full and thorough investigation" into the issuance of a "small number of temporary medical and humanitarian entry visas." Loomer, known for her far-right views, alleged that Palestinians from Gaza working for organizations friendly to Hamas are entering the U.S.

Loomer targeted "Heal Palestine," an organization that facilitates travel for Palestinians from Gaza to the U.S. for medical reasons. She claimed to have spoken with Senator Tom Cotton and that the visa process is being reviewed. Randy Fine, a member of the House of Representatives, also denounced the visa policy.

Loomer has previously triggered similar interventions, including the cancellation of a hiring at West Point and the dismissal of NSA officials.
