Strait of Hormuz: UN Security Council to Vote on Navigation Resolution

The UN Security Council is expected to vote on a draft resolution regarding navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, following several postponements.
Bahrain, with the support of Gulf countries, initiated negotiations for a resolution that would authorize the use of force to ensure freedom of navigation in the area, where Iran has restricted movement.
However, objections from permanent members of the Security Council led to softening of the text and postponements of the vote, due to potential vetoes from Russia or China.
