The military presence around Cyprus is increasing, with the arrival of new naval forces, such as the Italian missile frigate "Federico Martinengo". Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that the deployment of the frigate aims to secure the borders of the European Union.

A German frigate is already in Limassol port, and the Spanish warship "Cristóbal Colón" is also expected. Additionally, the Greek frigates "Kimono" and "Psara", as well as the French frigate Languedoc, are in the area. The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle" continues its journey in the eastern Mediterranean.

Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis stated that the presence of these assets is part of a prevention strategy amid a regional crisis.

Tomorrow, Monday, French President Emmanuel Macron and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will visit Cyprus for a trilateral meeting with President Christodoulides. The meeting will take place at Andreas Papandreou Air Base, where four Greek F-16s have been deployed.

The French presidency announced that Emmanuel Macron's visit expresses France's solidarity with Cyprus, which was attacked by drones and missiles last week. Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos revealed that the explosive-laden drones were launched from Lebanon.

Turkish Cypriot media report that Turkish fighter jets are expected to arrive in the occupied territories, information that is being assessed by the government.
