US authorities have arrested Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, niece of the assassinated Iranian General Qassem Soleimani, and her daughter, Sarinasadat Hosseini, revoking their residency permits.

Afshar, 47, is accused of promoting propaganda in favor of Tehran and praising attacks against American targets while residing in the United States.

According to the State Department, Afshar promoted the Iranian regime's propaganda, praised Iran's Supreme Leader, and supported the Revolutionary Guards.

Afshar entered the US in 2015 and obtained permanent residency in 2021. Her daughter, 25, also entered in 2015 and obtained a permit in 2023. Authorities deemed them a national security concern.

The State Department mentioned Afshar's luxurious lifestyle in Los Angeles, which was showcased on social media.

According to Iranian news agency Fars, Qassem Soleimani's daughter stated that those arrested are not related to his family.
