22 Cypriots Stranded in Tanzania Amidst Unrest

Twenty-two Cypriots, mainly students from a private school, are stranded in Tanzania due to ongoing unrest. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in contact with them to facilitate their return.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Theodoros Gotsis told the Cyprus News Agency that the Ministry has issued a travel advisory for Tanzania, urging Cypriot citizens to be particularly careful due to the riots and curfew.
The 14 students, aged 17 and 18, were visiting Tanzania for volunteer work, accompanied by two chaperones and two volunteers from Greece. Additionally, four other Cypriots are in the country for different reasons.
The Foreign Ministry's Crisis Management Center is in contact with the stranded Cypriots, in cooperation with the High Commission in Nairobi. The citizens are in a safe place and will return when possible, as there are currently no flights from Tanzania.
In case of emergency, Cypriot citizens can contact the High Commission of the Republic of Cyprus in Kenya or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
