Putin and Erdogan Meet at SCO Summit: Gratitude and Peace Efforts

Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Tianjin, China. Both leaders expressed positive remarks regarding their countries' relations.

Putin described Turkey as a reliable partner of Russia, emphasizing that energy cooperation between the two countries is of strategic importance. He also praised Turkey's role in efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

Erdoğan stated that Ankara is working towards a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and that the talks in Istanbul contribute to the peace efforts. The meeting also covered bilateral relations, efforts to establish peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Israeli attacks on Gaza, and developments in Syria.
