Iran-Turkey Defense Ministers Meet in Ankara

Turkish National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler received his Iranian counterpart, Aziz Nasirzadeh, Minister of Defense and Support of the Armed Forces, in Ankara on October 1st.
The meeting, held under military protocol, underscores the desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of defense, amid regional challenges.
Nasirzadeh emphasized the cultural and religious similarities between the two countries, while accusing Israel of aggressive policies in the region.
Güler, on his part, emphasized cooperation against terrorism and border security, adding that Turkey's security is linked to that of its neighbors.
Nasirzadeh invited Güler to visit Iran.
