The UN Security Council will convene on Monday at the request of Ukraine, following Russian strikes and the use of the 'Oresnik' missile. Russian strikes have caused heating disruptions in residential buildings in Kyiv.

Ukrainian Ambassador to the UN, Andrii Melnyk, condemned the Russian strikes against civilians and infrastructure. The mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, urged residents to temporarily leave the city.

Russia used the 'Oresnik' ballistic missile for the second time since the start of the war. Andrii Melnyk described the missile's use as a threat to European security.

Ukraine's request was supported by six members of the Security Council, including Greece, France, and Britain.
